COUPERIN, François
Concert royal no. 1 for violin, flute, oboe, viol and bassoon in G major (version for oboe and basso continuo)
III. Sarabande. Mesuré
Ramón Ortega Quero, professor
Manuela Candela Muñoz, oboe
Candela Pérez González, bassoon
Alina Artemyeva, harpsichord
When the key change occurs, there should be a stronger contrast — a clearer sense that something different is happening — and the sound itself should also change, playing with intensity and brightness.
At the beginning of the Sarabande, the playing shouldn’t be too introverted. Ortega suggests giving it more space and openness, in line with the character of the previous movements.
He also offers additional comments based on the harmonic structure of the piece, focusing mainly on articulation. Finally, he emphasizes that the ending should sound more conclusive.
