Trio for oboe, bassoon and piano FP 43
III. Rondo
Ramón Ortega Quero, professor
Nedley Antonio Robles Jiménez, oboe
José Manuel López Agarrado, bassoon
Alina Artemyeva, accompanying pianist
After playing the first section of the Rondo, the professor tells the oboist that some of the final notes should be shortened. In Ramón Ortega’s opinion, the playing should also sound more expressive and cantabile. They continue working through the entire movement, with comments focused mainly on phrasing and articulation. For example, in certain passages, the attack on the first note should not be so direct and strong, but rather shaped with more attention to the melodic line of the phrase.
