In this masterclass, the student dances the Minuet and plays the viola at the same time in order to feel better the beat. Then Diemut Poppen gives him some indications about bow direction and distribution. It is important not to play everything in the same point of the bow. The professor insists on the right setting of the strong beat without moving the viola.
The bass note of the chord must sound louder but without delaying the tempo.
Finally, Poppen gives some instructions on the position and the way to hold the bow to improve it.
